The Last Ten Years

"The Last Ten Years", "Yomei 10 Nen" in Japanese is a live-action movie based on the original work that has become a hot topic as a heartrending novel. The theme song is "Uruu-bito" sung by RADWIMPS. This movie was released on March 4, 2022.

The heroine is Matsuri Takabayashi acted by Nana Komatsu. When she was 20 years old, she learned that she had a 10-years life expectancy due to an unknown disease that affected only one in tens of thousand of people. In order not to become attached to living, she lived  her life determined not to fall in love. The hero is Kazuto Manabe acted by Kentaro Sakaguchi. He is a young man who falls in love with Matsuri and creates an opportunity to change Matsuri.

The story of this movie is that Matsuri and Kazuto, who have lived separate lives, reunite at a class reunion and suddenly get closer. She doesn't want to see him again, but Matsuri hides the fact that she is afflicted with an illness and enjoys spending time  with Kazuto just like any other man and woman. She said, "If I stay with Kazu any longer, I'll be afraid of dying". What path did they choose in the end?
